Favorite bands :
I'm a big fan of the big artists of the 60's and 70's, such as the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, The Eagles, James Taylor, and David Bowie. Real music by real musicians. I take the same view of the more recent artists that I like: The Killers, Eva Cassidy, U2, Damien Rice, Ray LaMontagne, etc. Basically, so long as it's not the sort of music-by-numbers stuff that gets churned out by a lot of music companies, I'm happy to listen to it (except r'n'b or dance shite!).
Favorite guitarists :
Always had a soft spot for Brian May (Queen) - he looks like a poodle but he can sure play a guitar.
When I was growing up I was always amazed by Joe Perry (Aerosmith). He was one of my main inspirations to start playing in the first place.
Favorite bassists :
Got to be Paul McCartney. Can't say I really know many bassists!
Favorite books :
At risk of sounding like a geek, my favourite book has always been Lord of the Rings. First read it when I was at university in the late nineties and have yet to find a book that can top it.
Favorite tv :
Don't watch an awful lot of TV - let's face it, most of it is utter pap! The only regular shows I make a point of watching are things like Dragons Den and Kitchen Nightmares (the original Brit version, not the glossy American version), although there are quite a few classic comedy shows I love, like Alan Partridge, The Office, Blackadder, and Faulty Towers.
Favorite movies :
Back to the Future. I'm not claiming it's the 'best' film ever, but it's certainly my favourite.
I love the Monty Python films too.
