Nate, our singer came to me with a song. He said he wanted it to be "guns and roses-like". so my solo is haevily inspired my slash. theres a very cool moment in the song where we all trade solos. it goes in this order, the drummer, the other guitar player, bass, me, then repeat. its pretty cool.
I arranged this song as an excuse to play dobro haha.
when i first heard this song, it was just our vocalist singng and playing it on the piano. I knew that nothing should take away from the story.so i went with a very country feel. i think it turned out well.
If you've ever wondered what a 70s silverface bassman sounds like this it. i tured it to about 5 and bridged both channels together. i think only one word describes it, FAT.
this is a pretty cool song written by our rhythm player. i put some guitar stuff that i really like on it.
Miles Davis song that i had the pleasure of performing recently at the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association (OPCICA) Honors Jazz Festival.
My heaviest playing ive ever done. Its probably not heavy at all to hard rock and metal players, but for a blues/jazz guy its pretty extreme. i tried to make the solos with motifs ive heard beofre in heavy music, hopefully it didnt come off as too cliche.
This is live from a cabin we were rehearsing in. we are trying to get everything down before we hit the real studio for our second LP. The solo was improvised. Im trying to figure out just what i want to do in it. I like some of my ideas, but it needs work. please, let me know what you think.
one night i remembered that i had a project due then next morning. i had to write and produce two songs using midi on Logic Pro. i stayed up a couple hours doing it. i am proud of this one, the other one i did was some hip hop trash. enjoy.
The song started out as a vocal jazz ballad, but i wasnt happy the words i had written, and the melody wasnt very strong. I still needed to turn in a song for my songwriting class, so i decided to try something i hadnt done before, an almost classical or chamber type thing.
Its a song im working on. will mostly likely remain an instrumental. tell me what you think. so far i only have about a third of it done, AABA. i need to repeat it a few times with trading solos between a couple different instruments. im going to lay some guitar tracks down later.
a jazz ballad type song about a girl who commits suicide. no one knows of her pain, except from her story on the wall, written in blood.
its a very quirky sounding song, almost like tom waits.
