When I first started out at guitar, my teacher told me I was advanced for my level (beginner). I was proud of myself . I think that the finger dexterity came from playing piano for three years before that. Anyway, in the beginning, I learned all the basic exercises, like how to pull-offs and harmonics and bar chords (which I still have trouble with, BTW). Then I learned my first song. It was The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson. And I...was...hooked. It was so cool. Once I knew the four chords and simple strumming pattern to that song, I felt umstoppable. I learned song after song after song. And I still am. And actually, it was only the summer of 2012 I began playing. So I can't be giving out advice like I'm a pro. But I'm just saying, for all you beginners, once you get that first song, it's amazing. You'll feel like you're moving mountains.
It's....AWESOME!
