I remember when I was younger, I used to go watch Scarborough F.C every week, through thick and thin, despite them being in the Conference or even lower, having to survive on Free Transfered players. A couple of years ago, they went into administration after they couldn't sell their stadium. However if they'd had a couple of hundred thousand of punds pumped in I'm sure they'd have survived.
Now the stadium, if I recall correctly was worth no more that £3-4 million. This sum is dwarfed by alot of Premiership footballer's wages in a year, and this is where my rant begins.
Let's take Cristiano Ronaldo as an example. He now, after his £80m move to Real Madrid gets about £9.5 million a year. Or £200,000ish a week. Why on Earth would he bloody need that much money a week? I mean, if I got £200,000 a week, I wouldn't know where to bloody start! Now £200,000 would probably have saved my beloved Scarborough F.C from going down the slippy-slope. I mean what is more useful, saving one of the oldest football clubs in history (founded in 1879) with a very colourful history, or lining some Portuguese git's back pocket? I'm sure that question answers itself.
The worst part is, he demanded more. He already gets probably more than what the PM gets in a year in week, and what would take alot of families 10 years to get what he gets in week. Yet, the greedy git wants more.
This isn't just directed at Cristiano Ronaldo, but at all the footballers who get far more than they need.
But I say there should be a cap of £25,000 a week maximum, as that is more than enough, and the rest of the money gets put to better use (I don't think I need to give example).
Guess what, I've been banned again thanks to that weeding out thread by frenchy. It's extremely unfair as I did nothing that's against the rules and I wasn't on a warning, Frenchy says it was clear that if you posted on the thread then you'd get banned but that is just wrong. So yeah.
Well, yesterday I was banned and now I have to spend 45 days lurking around The Pit not logged in. All because in the news about Slash discussing getting a new singer, I posted just 'Britney Spears!!!!!' as a joke and now I'm banned as I was already on a warning that actually would have expired in 4 days, so you won't be seeing me posting in The Pit for a while
