can i join the grey team? | Nope. You had to have signed up a few days ago in the pit. It's for a challenge dealie. The people that survive get their records cleaned.

qstionauthority wrote on Sep 30th, 2008 12:55amit wasn't a big deal, it was just too fast when it would have sounded a lot better if you slowed it down.
A lot of people just think faster= better, but if you have note like you had at 2:08 it sounds way better if you slow down your vibrato quote |

Nice! some real solid parts in there, each improv you do I like more than the last, keep it up!
thanks!
i was kinda trying to build it up each verse... no i'm glad you liked it. i have been doing that on all of my tracks recently because i can't come up with enough stuff to fill out a whole song otherwise. |
Yeah I was saying each different jam you've done over the past year or whatever has been progressively better, like the way you built this last one up too

Very cool. Are you using an E-bow?? |
Thanks, the beginning part is just using a volume pedal with some delay, the middle part is a univibe effect, then back to delay at the end.

haha, i did toy with the idea of calling it "the 2nd mode of submediance" or something stupid like that... but it wouldn't have made much sense.
i know you are banned, but you are in for this jam right? | Haha. I should be joining as long as I can come up with something good (which is hard when I improv lol). I already have the backing track downloaded. I think I'll mess with it now...

metal4all wrote on Sep 16th, 2008 1:11pmI got confused with "The Submediant One" because you were talking about Dorian. It then sunk in that it'sJam 6. quote |

considering he knows very little theory he can play ANYTHING. |
He must play by ear - very talented. My favourite keyboardist of all time is the late Billy Preston. His feel is absolute, and you could give him any song and he'll know exactly what to do. RIP Billy.

haha, i don't beleive you....... but thanks!!!! | I wasn't just saying it. I love the song. The motif is great. The leads that branch off of the motif are awesome. The phrasing, awesome. Entire song = fucking awesome.

There will probably be a new jam starting in the next month or so, you should join in. I for one am not very good, but i think that means you get more out of the jam. |
Ok, sounds fun. I'll do it!

The.new.guy wrote on Jul 17th, 2008 9:06amIf you have another UG jam in the near future, I might enter in it. Maybe...and thats a big maybe. I'm not sure if I'm as "touched up" on my theory as I should be. So, I may or may not enter it. I don't want to embarass myself now do I? quote |

I've started learning a bit of counterpoint so hopefully the melodies in these tracks will get a bit more interesting. quote |

psychodelia wrote on Jun 19th, 2008 8:19pmWell, thanks for that! I (finally) listened to your tunes, and my favorite parts are definitely the rhythm playing in stuff like #2, #7 and #10. It's very light and relaxing, and I like the tone quote |

Sorry, Ill stop.
I was expecting complaints about it sooner or later.
Ill put it up, and stop doing it, my reason last night, is I just got so pissed off at my inability.
Sorry for the inconveniance. quote |
z4twenny wrote on Jun 11th, 2008 10:10pmno offense on the hip hop comment at all i've actually been considering doing some hip hop stuff and selling it on the side. my major complaint with hip hop is that it's the same exact melody for 3 or 4 minutes with the exact same beat and they MIGHT bring in something else to seperate the verse/choruses, it's far too repetitive and i have ADD..... oh yeah and the message, i'm not big on a lot of the messages. theres a couple though i like regardless, basically anything Dr. Dre puts his hands on turns to gold (or platinum and most of the rappers he works with are pretty good and he can write some pretty catchy stuff. quote |
