I was just wondering if anyone found it really easy to start a band when you got to highschool. I'm starting highscool in the Fall and really want a band.
Music is one of two of my extreme passions. The other one being sports. I', disappointed with the world of music these days and how teenagers lack musical education. Music has been proven to improve students in other areas, and I'm surprised by how little youth my age know about music. There's a pretty low percentage of people at my school that can even play their instruments in music class at standard 75% and it's pretty sad. Barely anyone plays an instrument outside of school, and I think doing that is a really great thing. Playing instruments is my way of being different and letting go of emotions. Cause you know, somedays you just want to make tons of noise. Lots of people my age do this by being loud assholes in public and it's pretty damn annoying. For me, I just go home and turn it up. It's a shame how the musical world is failing.
This is a blog about being very tall. I'm 14 years old and I'm 6'1". This is weird for me cause the average height for guys my age is like 5'5" or something. I was that tall around 3-4 years ago. It's also very awesome cause most people are around my shoulder height so they go running down the halls at school and smack their face on my shoulder. Obviously I'd rather be tall than short, but too tall??
Hey UG. I'm just going to talk about how most people are to impress by playing guitar. Here's the story. I'm in Grade 8 and we're doing small group songs for our strings music (violin, viola, cello and double bass only.) I play double bass but since my group decided to play Canon In D, I didn't want to play the bass cause it's too damn easy. So the teacher let us play other instruments, so I've been bringing my guitar in. I'm insanely good compared to the other two people who brought in their guitars and everyone is always so impressed by some really dumb things. While the group was discussing something and everyone stopped playing, I just muted all the strings and strummed (kind of like the intro to Voodoo Child but with no wah.) Two girls in the group thought that was pretty much the coolest thing ever. Another thing I did was play the solo in Crazy Train. Even though the first tapping part is really awesome and fast, one girl thought that the little lick played at 2:50 was awesome. That took no skill at all. Bend up on the 9th fret on the G string (haha G-String,) hit the 10th on the B and the 9th on the G again. It's pretty crazy how easy people are to impress. Reactions?
