Attack of the Clones!!!

Right, I know that I've moaned about new and old bands being stereo-typed and I know that I've gone on about how some of the greatest bands have degraded themselves, so this time I'm gonna complain about...

"New" bands deliberately following in the footsteps of other bands (e.i. copying other bands).

Every day I come across more and more bands that sound almost identical to other bands; bands that built their originality from scratch... I was watching one of the most aweful shows on Earth last night (The X Factor) and there was a girl-group on there called Hope (kinda ironic since they got voted out). They sounded as if they were just trying to be like the Spice Girls or Girls Aloud (and failing badly). Even the judges keep saying that "they want to find the next Spice Girls".

I think all these pop bands are aweful, to be honest, but pop bands who copy other pop bands? They're horrific... People want NEW music, not cheap cover-bands. *cough* WESTLIFE!*cough*. The best thing about that show last night was Duran Duran. I'm not a huge fan of Duran Duran, but they were amazing compared to the rest of the crap that was performing on the stage.

There were a few artists on there that were alright, but they're besides the point. Bands like these keep cropping up all over the place. Another example... take a look at Panic! At The Disco (i've used them as examples so much, they're almost a cliche). If they arn't clinging on to whatever Fall Out Boy established for themselves, then I don't know what they're doing. The vocals sound the same, some of the guitar parts sound the same... the only thing that's different is that Panic! use a few more dirty words.

"OMG! What did they say?! They can't say that!!!" *giggle giggle giggle*

Whatever! Childish pigs... anyway, do you see what I mean? It's like band after band of clones! It's begining to sh*t me up! :haha:

I can't be bothered writing any more on this... bands are gonna keep coming and going... there's only so much you can do with what you got, I suppose. Leave me some comments on what YOU think.

"Gimme all your comments, all of your Kudos too!" :haha:

luv.luv.luv.

Unfortunately, it's true. A lot of bands can't find their own style plus band covers really piss me off. Example: Green Day. Their last 3 singles have been covers; Jonas Brothers. They've covered a song and changed the lyrics to another (they suck anyways). So yea, I agree 100% with you.

agreed, totally tbh i like tothink my music isnt clinging onto whatever -insert band here- have already established, but unfortunately i might just be biased tbh
