I live in western PA with my wife and my teenage daughter. I grew up in Virginia and moved to PA at the age of 15. I've always been around the guitar. My mother was a classical guitarist, not to mention she was a classical pianist also. My first guitar was a birthday present at 13. Then a Melody Maker was my guitar for a long time. I went to the Atlanta Institute of Music with it. The damn thing couldn't keep up with everybody else's Les Pauls, Jacksons, and Fenders. So this inspired me to take some repair courses. From there I went to Roberto-Venn school of Luthiery. Now, years later, my hair is getting gray and balding on top.
