BBoyBlaZe wrote on Dec 23rd, 2009 12:38amthanks for your comment, its great, about the rhythm i dunno what made me choose a dry trebly tone but its 10x better with good distorition, i guess i wanted to keep it old skool thru the tone, we recorded this song after 3 jams with the new drummer and vocalist, i had it written but never actually played it. we kicked the vocalist out coz he was a pain in the ass and he didnt practice. we have a falsetto guy now and its goin well i can, and we have another drummer. i always oppose the idea that a voclaist playing an instrument in rock n roll. he needs to get out there and pump up the audience. if we ever gig, i ll let you know. and thanks again quote |

Well, VH's backing vocals were tracks....some hip-hop acts, the DJ is pretending to spin (has an iPod/some sort of playback device), usually if drummers have a computer beside them, there's a good indication there, unless it's just for click track. Some bands have their mix volume under the tracks or even muted...they're just used as backups....could you believe that? You'll sometimes see techs behind amp stacks w/laptops too.
In U2's case, they have 2 backup musicians under the stage playing the keys and 2nd/3rd guitars, and backup vocals. No tracks are used. Even Dallas Schoo has a 2nd guitar rig identical to the Edge's, so that he can also activate the FX if the Edge is far from his rig. It was featured in the making of the ZooTV tour. |
alright thanks man. my god i never thought about all the stuff that went into it, like i always just assumed it was just the band and like maybe a couple tech dudes

Hey, if you've got the desire and patience to learn audio you can do it. It's all about networking...just show that you know your stuff and you need to hustle. You'll learn a lot just working with bands....you'll realize straight off the real ones, and the pretenders....and some of the pretenders are legendary. You'll also see how much they're human off-stage (playing catch, hanging out w/them, talking about life, exchanging BBQ recipes). |
Hahaha thanks man i appreciate it. and jw what pretenders are legendary? U mean like the guys in Van Halen or that sort of thing

From one U2 fan to another. Dude I guess you're pissed with U2's new album, but you know that they are a live band. Their songs sounds better live too. AYCLB was probably my worst album of there's...but live, the songs sounded great. I admit 'Boots' is like Vertigo and Beautiful Day (dislike)...but I think that's the worst song on the album. My favorite is still Boy and Achtung. I hope to be working w/them soon. |
Working with them? dude that would be amazing, are you like a producer or something?
