It's pretty fair to say that I've changed a lot over the course of a year.

I came into 2008 with chronic depression, brought on by a whole heap of stuff back in 04. Things spiralled from bad to worse in May, when my now ex-girlfriend began to cheat on me and I found out. I completely lost it and no-one knew who I was anymore.

In the winter school holidays, I began to realise how much I had fucked up my life. I had destroyed everyone around me, I had ruined what most people percieved me to be, and I had no idea who I was anymore.

So, I made a decision.

I was going to transform what I had become.

Back then, facial hair was a no-no. Fringes were awesome to me. Fuck, I even painted my nails black a couple of times.

After that, I made it all better. I cut the fringe off, I put some blonde in the black, I took out the stretcher and lip piercing I had, and I kept the eyebrow, labret, and ear piercings.

After my image was transformed, I changed who I was, and I have a couple of people to thank for it- people who I owe everything to, and even though they may never, ever read this, I want to get it out.

Andrew - One of my best mates, known him pretty much my entire life, and you couldn't ask for a better friend. He is feckin' hilarious, loves his music, and plays bass like a motherfucker.

Zeekly - Another one of my best mates, witnessed all of my breakdown, and helped me get back on my feet again. I have nothing but respect from him.

Joycy - Creepy, weird and just generally munted, Joyce makes me laugh without really trying. That's always a nice thing to be able to do.

Ash, Sam, Romy - These three girls are just amazing. They're so laidback, funny, and so damn cheesy that they're awesome. I love em all.

Dale, Powell - These two single-handedly got me into the music I love nowadays, and they're generally great guys to hang out with.

Yngewie Malmstein - Not Yngwie Malmsteen, but Yngewie Malmstein, is a great friend of mine and will always be, even if he still calls me an emo. :(

And, even though they're not exactly friends, I have to thank Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Children of Bodom and Metallica for being my one stronghold during this year.

Acquaintences come and go, friends are forever, but music is the key to living the best you can be.

To all of you who read this, thanks for learning of my story, and peace to all.
