Why a lot of say they play drums and then don't have a drum set? It pisses me off so much. People at my school say, ya i can play drums and then i ask them what kind of drums they have and they say oh i don't have any. WTF!! How can you practice drums withouth a drumset??

Hey, I play a bit... I'm not saying I'm great, but it is possible to play drums on a friend's set. I play my friend Jess's drums all the time. That doesn't mean I'm poser. They could play on a relatives or friends. Get an explaination first before you get pissed off...
OK look, anyone with a basic sense of rhythm can play drums.. Hell I've only played around on my drummers set like.. twice? And I can keep a perfect beat for any punk song easy. But what makes you a drummer is your ability to do more than that, to do crazy fills n complex rhythms, mostly the ability to do complex rhythms tho.. I don't know about you, but I cant do a 3 with my hands and a 4 with my foot (if you know what that is). So just cuz u can keep a solid beat doesn't mean you're a drummer, and it's an insult to a real drummer to make such a claim.
agreed - anyone can keep time - Drummers just add in fancy fills and do more complicated shit. I can technically play drums, even if that is only having a laugh by hitting a closed hi-hat and the bass pedal over and over again - its still in time and has rhythm.
