Erm... Well, this is wierd. I don't usually talk about myself.
I was basically raised in 70s-90s rock and metal music, listening to my dad's old vinyls and cassettes.
I started playing music at age 7 on the french horn. I spent 3 years playing it seriously but now i just play in festivals for money.
Then I bought my first CD which was The Greatest Hits I by the legendary band Queen. That gave me a sudden interest in rock music and after a while i started to listen to the mighty Led Zeppelin on the first live DVD that I've got for my birthday. It was The Song Remains The Same, the performance at Madison square garden.
My style of music started to get heavier, I started listening to Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Kiss and Metallica.
When i got sick of the same music, I've moved on tho Slipknot and Slayer. Which was my key to learn drums. Inspired by Joey Jordison, I tought myself drums which was a piece of cake; I found drumming pretty easy. But the tought didn't last long, once, I played the title track of annihilation of the wicked by nile. The drumming blew my mind! But I can pull of a basic blast nowadays.
Again by Joey Jordison, I was inspired to learn guitar after hearing the riff on My Dark Place Alone by Murderdolls. I prommissed myself that by the end of the year, I would be able to pull that riff!
Don't worry, I can play it!!
Mark Morton was also a big influence in my guitar playing; I mean, his riffs sort of speak to me!!
An other influence was Michael Еkerfeld from Opeth. His way of guitar playing is like looking at a clear picture of something. He can literally draw with his guitar. I wish that one day, I will be able to write songs like he does
an other guitarist that i really like is Karl Sanders from Nile which is one of my favourite bands. I like Karl's playing because he really knows how to write a complex riff.
Anyway now I'm with a band (Druid) in which I play drums. I don't want anyone to think of me as a bad-ass drummer or guitarist; just a songwriter.
