Update!

So it's been a while since I last updated. Heheh.. I've been getting lazy with practice. ^^U Things have been getting hectic living back home. I've got my brother's graduation coming up, then family to deal with for memorial day, not to mention we're planning my parents' 20th anniversary party. Everyone has been home, annnd I don't like playing infront of people for some reason. Stage fright I suppose?

Anyhow, I've gotten better at understanding the concept of the capo :) Just a little. I dunno. Mine is kind of crappy though. It keeps making one of my strings sound funny if I don't put it on EXACTLY right.

I'm learning some newer songs. They're easier though! So I'm going to learn them a bit faster I hope.

  • Collide - Howie Day
  • Bleeding Love - Lewis Lewis
  • Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer
Also, I think my fingers are getting more calloused!

And I'll end with a question: How do you know when you are ready to sing and play?? Does it take a while?

Play your electric without the amp, nice and quiet. As for playing and singing, just hum along with the song as you play it. It's hard, I'm still learning how to do it.

i don't really have good hand-to-mouth coordination, lol, so i usually learn the song really well first. it's apparent though, that i do have good foot-in-mouth coordination. :)

But so far you've been helpful and sweet :)

Hey, I find that I totally bomb when I play in front of people, unless there's alcohol involved. It's a confidence thing and you'll get over it.

Hmmm.... You're able to when you're able to.... Naw, that doesn't really help, now, does it? Try practising with Sabbath tunes, the vocals always follow the melodies. Good 'ol Ozzy, always just sober enough to follow the melody.... I think Pink Floyd tunes are fairly straight-forward, too. Just keep practicing chickie, you'll get there!! Maybe just try playing the bass notes?
