Metallica (shut-up), Megadeth, Dragonforce, Steel Dragon (Stand up and shout b*tches), Zepp, ZZ, Ozzy/Sabbath (I don't really care if there is a difference), AC/DC, Eagles, Alice in Chains, BLS, A7X, Doors, Clapton, Johnson, Kansas, Judas Priest, Pink Floyd, Tesla...mostly "Classic Rock" (whatever the hell that means).

Randy Rhoads, Toni Iommi, Zakk Wylde, Jimmy Page, Angus Young, etc...
Favorite books :
Definitely "Angels & Demons" (pre-quel to "The Da Vinci Code" which sux).
First of all, I am a student with no time to doodle with my guitars. I can only play (no doodling involved). I own a WHITE Gibson Les Paul (f-yes) and for practice a black Ibanez RVX-220 (made in Indonesia...damn). I also play bass very weakly (it is easy, I just seem to always stretch my hands down 6 frets when I actually do doodle). I use a simple Fender Frontman 25-R for in home use (that thing on max is CRAZY!). That is pretty much what I am willing to share right now.
