I'm a self taught musician. I live in the netherlands.
I use the guitar mostly to create sounds fo songs, not so much as a means to be a typical guitarplayer. The Guitar is there to help me express musical ideas, wich I tend to sing first and then figure out on the fingerboard. If I allow my fingers to find the music, they tend to find the same things over and over a gain. My fingers are predictable, my mind is trying hard not to be.
I love to arrange songs: to find ways to make them playable with minimum means and maximum result: less is more.
Helping songwriters fleshing out their ideas is great pass time.
Another fun thing I like to do is play non-guitar sounds with my guitarsynth: it forces me to think outside the (guitar) box and helps me expand my thinking about chords and melodies and and get further away from the guitarisitic ways in music.
This doesn't mean I do not love guitar or guitar playing. I merely wish not to be limited by it.
