Nah, not really. If you can get out of undergrad with a high GPA and you've done some work outside of courses such as I ran some experiments and worked on stuff in undergrad, you can get into grad school.
It's really a matter of whether you feel like dedicating your life to your studies, pretty much entirely, for the next 4 years. You won't have time to do much else besides study. |

I know a few people who get out in 2 if they already have a Master's in the subject before starting their PhD work. I get a free masters along the way if I continue through the program. So yeah.

Maths, just undergraduate now. Have no idea what grades I'm supposed to be getting to imply I should go on to post-grad. I'm guess you got like 95% on everything during undergrad?

depends on your expertise. 4 years is a minimum for physics... if you absolutely nail the hell out of everything and take all of your courses at once (adds up to almost 100 out of class hours to keep up) and then get lucky enough that your research only takes 2 years instead of the average 3-4. I'm taking it a bit slower, so I'm on the 5-6 year plan.
And hell... I was just thinking about how "loving" your girlfriend is yesterday. It was a very 'easy' thought. |

And yeah I thought it was about 4 years, just one of my lectures mumbled something about doing it in 2. But then it was in maths

Sounds nice. I think I have mono. I went to the doctor and she says I show all the symptoms for it but the blood test is showing up negative. She wants me to come back in two weeks because sometimes it takes a while for it to show up in the bloodwork.
