In a time when the most songs are sad/depressing/kinda slowish, I've decided to conduct a list of songs that are in happy its nature.
What qualifies this list I want to make? 1. The tone of the song, is the tone happy? 2. Lyrics, they can't be about loss, anger, suicide or other depressing themes 3. No upbeat teenage angst songs (even though Avril Lavinge's "Girlfriend" sounds like a happy song, they lyrics wouldn't qualify) 4. The most metal riffs I know of sound pretty angry and agressive, I'm not saying that metal isn't allowed, but I've never heard of "happy" metal songs 5. Does not have to involve love, even though love is accepted.
I'm starting my list with a few songs I find are quite happy.
Animal Collective - Who could Win a Rabbit
Autograph - Turn up the radio
Bachman Turner Overdrive - You ain't seen nothing yet
Beatles - Most of their songs, I'd like to highlight "Eight days a week" and "Paperback writer"

I'll start with those songs, which I find are generally happy.
Please, comment with suggestions on songs I could add to this list.
Thanks for reading
As a comment person says, there's a website who lists happy songs. But this list shall be bigger, better, happier and jollyer than that one.
Eric Johnson- Cliffs of Dover
Joe Satriani- Always With Me, Always With You
California Girls- David Lee Roth
Blinded by the Light- Bruce Springsteen.
99 Red Balloons- Nena (Yeah, it's actually about how close the world came to nuclear annihilation, but if you forget about that, it's about balloons and balloons are never depressing or angry! Plus everything about the song is so upbeat...)
I enjoy music with a more upbeat and optimistic feel to it. It seems that a lot of the music I hear out there on the radio has more of a darker/depressing feel. The modern rock stations around here, at least.
