The happy music megalist experiment

In a time when the most songs are sad/depressing/kinda slowish, I've decided to conduct a list of songs that are in happy its nature.

What qualifies this list I want to make?
1. The tone of the song, is the tone happy?
2. Lyrics, they can't be about loss, anger, suicide or other depressing themes
3. No upbeat teenage angst songs (even though Avril Lavinge's "Girlfriend" sounds like a happy song, they lyrics wouldn't qualify)
4. The most metal riffs I know of sound pretty angry and agressive, I'm not saying that metal isn't allowed, but I've never heard of "happy" metal songs
5. Does not have to involve love, even though love is accepted.

I'm starting my list with a few songs I find are quite happy.
  • Animal Collective - Who could Win a Rabbit
  • Autograph - Turn up the radio
  • Bachman Turner Overdrive - You ain't seen nothing yet
  • Beatles - Most of their songs, I'd like to highlight "Eight days a week" and "Paperback writer"
  • Billy Idol - Mony Mony
  • Bloodhound gang - Ralph Wiggum
  • Bob Marley - Many of his songs, higlighting "Three little birds" and "Is this love"
  • Bob Dylan - I want you
  • Boston - More than a feeling, Don't Look Back, Peace of Mind
  • Bowling for soup - I'm gay
  • Bruce Springsteen - Blinded by the lights, Dancing in the dark
  • Creedence Clearwater Revival - Down on the corner
  • Dan Deacon - Wham city
  • David Lee Roth - California Girls
  • Devin Townsend - Sunshine and happiness
  • Dispatch - The General, Bang Bang
  • Don McLean - American Pie
  • Doobie Brothers - Listen to the music
  • Eric Johnson- Cliffs of Dover
  • Fairport Convention - Come all ye
  • Fleet Foxes - Drops in the River
  • Fleetwood Mac - Don't stop
  • The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger
  • Gomez - See the world
  • Guns n' Roses - Nightrain, Paradise City
  • Guthrie Govan - Rhode island shred
  • James Brown - I feel good
  • Joe Satriani - Summer song, Always with me always with you
  • Journey - Anyway you want it
  • K.C and The Sunshine Band - Boogie Shoes
  • Led Zeppelin - D'yer Maker, Celebration Day
  • Lesley Gore - Sunshine and Lollipops
  • Nena - 99 Red Balloons (exception)
  • Ok go- This too shall pass, Do what you want
  • Panic! at the disco - That green Gentleman
  • Paulo Nutini - New shoes on
  • Passion Pit - Sleepyhead
  • Queen - Lazing On a Sunday Afternoon
  • Raconteurs (The) - Yellow sun
  • Reef - Summer's in bloom
  • Rush - A passage to Bankok, YYZ, Time Stand Still
  • Tunng - Santiago
  • Sublime - What I Got
  • Supertramp - Goodbye Stranger, Breakfast in America
  • Todd Rungren - I Saw The Light
  • Vampire Weekend - A-Punk
  • Weezer - Island in the sun, If you're wondering if I want you too
  • [I'd like to rule out all Calypso and Soca because 99% of all those songs are happy]
I'll start with those songs, which I find are generally happy.

Please, comment with suggestions on songs I could add to this list.

Thanks for reading :)

As a comment person says, there's a website who lists happy songs.
But this list shall be bigger, better, happier and jollyer than that one.

Eric Johnson- Cliffs of Dover
Joe Satriani- Always With Me, Always With You
California Girls- David Lee Roth
Blinded by the Light- Bruce Springsteen.
99 Red Balloons- Nena (Yeah, it's actually about how close the world came to nuclear annihilation, but if you forget about that, it's about balloons and balloons are never depressing or angry! Plus everything about the song is so upbeat...)

I enjoy music with a more upbeat and optimistic feel to it. It seems that a lot of the music I hear out there on the radio has more of a darker/depressing feel. The modern rock stations around here, at least.
