Yeah I get overwhelmed by scales man because I don't know where to start
They're extremely useful. For me, you need them to write music. Basically tells you all the positions and notes you can use to make sure your playing the right notes.

Heh yeah I guess. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with my own playing and technique though. I'm the best guitarist I know of around my area but meh I still could improve
Ya, theres always room to improve no matter what man. So much shit to learn; techniques, scales, chords, etc. haha

atually I'm buying a 7 string Ibanez from a friend to repaint. I'm gonna paint the entire body a silver and reflective blue tribal design.

hey. thanx for the help. I got the squire from a friend for like 30 dollars so I dont care about it too much. but I've been meaning to find another crap guitar to fix up and refinish. it probably would be better if I used a different guitar. I think I can get some good maple from someone so I might just build my own.

Talked with a few guys at my local guitar store and this is what they said about adding cabs to a B-52 AT 112/212. If its just for home use, it is probably not worth it to add anything. At the very most, you could add a 1x12 cabinet to get stereo sound. Don't get more than a 1x12 though because more speakers is not worth it at low volumes.

The guy who told me this uses two 4x12 cabs with eminence speakers. He knows his shit:p

I need to post some pictures of my gear don't I? Yeah, I agree that it's a good collection over the years. I'm really proud of my Mesa, I worked really hard for it, and a LONG time. I'll post some pics soon. ;)

Yeah I guess you're right. I might have to pick up an interface somewhere along the line.

You don't have msn by any chance? This messaging is getting pretty ludicrous (^-^)

Yeah I had the same problem. I also tried connecting the line out directly to my computer today! Nothing blew up or anything, the sound was horrible. The computer couldn't handle the output properly, too much volume I think.

Heres how I managed to get a decent sound for recording: I use a Logitech 4000 webcam, and I put it about 2 meters from my amplifier. I then configured the sensitivity of my microphone to its absolute minimum. Then, I put my amps volume to the absolute minimum it could go without losing the sound completely. The trick for me was to just get the amp output and microphone input low enough for the computer to handle it, and then increase the volume on the computer after the recording. I recorded using audacity.

I don't know how you can decrease the microphone sensitivity, I did it using msn. When you open an msn dialogue, you can change the webcam input settings in the msn sound wizard. Thats how I did it. Not sure how to do it without msn.

No rush my friend, take your time with whatever it is you have to do:p And no, my amp doesn't have a bright switch on the clean channel. I guess thats just for the 212 version. So you are a guitar teacher eh? Thats really cool.

I am now working on learning the song Unholy Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold completely to be recorded. Its not the greatest song in the world and I don't like the vocals at all. It has a few nice riffs though and its probably the best I can do at this time.

Have fun with your friend!

I think that when it comes to being able to play cleanly consistently, I wouldn't be able to play anything much harder than songs like: Last resort by Papa roach. Or things from people bands like Disturbed, or Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold (minus the solos). I could play harder things, but not flawlessly. Or so I think. Until now I haven't really had the patience to learn full songs since almost every song has boring parts:p If I were really optimistic I think I could pull off a song like Rain by Trivium completely if I try a couple of times. My Death metal sample features one riff from that song.

About your line out-in comment in my blog, check out my posts. I made a few threads asking about this which you should see. I believe its in the recording section of the forums somewhere. The overall consensus was that it is safe to do. Check my thread out though, so you can see first hand.

Haha yeah. I didn't really pay attention to my playing at all and all of them were recorded in one go. My next upload will be a complete song, as I was just trying to demo my gear and settings. I've been playing for about two years now. I must admit I'm a pretty sloppy player and I don't really know how far along I am. I'll do my best playing wise when I upload that full song, which should give you a good indication of where I'm at skill wise. I'm probably not really good, but I really hope I don't suck either haha.
