Favorite bands :
I have a ton, but my all time Favorite is Guns N' Roses...Sweet Child O' Mine is the reason i got into music. Axl is my Idol, which now doesn't mean as much as it would have 20 years ago, but i don't care.
Favorite guitarists :
Randy Rhoads is the reason i picked up a guitar, and i think Zakk Wylde is a poor replacement for him. Along with him, i love Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Chris Impetrelli (I probably spelled that wrong, but thats ok), Rob Kulik (especially on The Crimson Idol), David Gilmour, Brian May, Izzy Stradlin, Ritchie Blackmore, Uli John Roth, Max Christman of The In Between (The best undiscovered band EVER!), and Michael Schenker...There are probably more i missed, but w/e..
Favorite bassists :
Billy Sheehan, Les Claypool, Ricky T (Again, of The In Between), Steve Harris, and Roger Waters
Favorite books :
Catcher in The Rye opened my eyes, Heroin Diaries is good as well, and Anything Dean Koontz writes
Favorite tv :
Family Guy, The Late Late show with Craig Ferguson, Soth Park, Robot Chicken, Behind The Music, and pretty much Anything else on Adult swim or music related...
Favorite movies :
The Highlander, Step-Brothers, The Dark Knight, Wayne's World 1 and 2, and Everything Kevin Smith touches (Jay and Silent Bob FTW!)
Well, about 16 and a half years ago, i was born into this world by a 16 year old woman...she was single, lived with her Father and Step-Mother, and worked her ass off in and out of school. She supported me and raised me into who I am. When she was pregnant with me, she used to put on Metallica and Suicidal Tendancies, plug head phones in, and put them on her stomache...I was a rocker before birth...
While my mother was in school or at work, my Step-Grandmother raised me. She spoiled me and wouldn't let me play outside...I played with toys and ocasionally had friends from preschool over...very sheltered life...That bitch died in 2001 and i've been happier ever since.
Along with my Mom and Step-Grandmother i was raised by my Grandpa...he was a military man, Drill Sargent, and police guard...yet he used to be a pot smoking hippie/rocker who worshipped Jim Morrison and Steve Miller...Oh how time changes a person...
So with all this rock influence, you would think i would have been a catcher since birth...thats somewhat true...I was always into older stuff like the beatles, The Stones, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and the like...but it wasn't until my mom met a Guy named Miguel that i knew what i wanted to do.
Miguel's nickname was Bink...and Bink was a biker from a county over who lived fast and rocked hard. I listened to Ozzy, Motorhead, Megadeth...and basically anything metal. At this time i was about 9 or 10...and i was listening to that bubblegum pop shit and that stupid Hip-Hop...Bink got me out of that very quickly...
It was around this time i also got into Country, Southern Rock, The Blues and everything in between...Finally on Christmas 2004l, My Mom and Grandma pitched together to get me a Squire Stratocaster...my first electric guitar...I loved it from the start...but was too young to want to learn how to play...All i cared about was Playstation and Girls...But, time changes people...
Around 2003, my friends started encouraging me to do what i wanted to do...and finall, while watching VH1's Behind the Music: Guns N' Roses...i knew what i wanted to do...
I started singing non-stop..i grew out my hair, begged for CD's and DVD's of rock artists, and decided i wanted to be a musician...
Then, Two years ago, i met a few more people who encouraged me even more. They were some people i met while Bowling with a new friend...they went to a Catholic school across the street from mine and soon would be joining us for freshmen year (The Catholic school only teaches K-8)...and with my long hair, ripped clothing, and Gn'R shirt, i started talking to them...They said i looked like a metalhead/murderer and that i looked like someone who plays guitar for "Some really heavy band like Metallica"...I ignored the ignorance of calling Metallica a heavy band...but after being compaired to the look of a guitar player, and after loving the sound of the guitar and rock for many years...i decided it was time to pick up that guitar i got years ago...and learn to play...
It started out rocky...and i was impatient at first...but then i head the wail of a guitar that changed my life...This guitar, Black with yellow polka dots, with a harpoon top in the shape of a V was held by none other than Randy Rhoads...and he was playing the solo to Mr. Crowley...and then i heard Crazy Train...and the rest of blizzard...and Diary Of A Madman...and knew that it was destiny...
And now, here i am, two and a half years later, as the only guitarist in my town. I know write music and lyrics, play shows, and i'm trying to start a band...and hopefully...spread my love of music to the world...
...If you read all that, you might as well add me as a friend...
