White Collar Flight - poem

Current mood: crazy

He walked into the building, eyed the elevator quickly filling
The stairs seemed more fitting for the heavy task at hand.
Yet the solitude makes for empty afterthoughts
To the adjacent elevator he made way at once.

His eyes to the cityscape, fervent work to something great
Hoping he wouldn't hate having to leave his fellow man.
When the bell rang the top floor he slowly walked
Found the service staircase, and made his way at once.

The stairway held a frigid draft, as the stairs became a path
Shaking was his hand as he put it forth towards the door.
Pausing for a moment to savor the sense of touch
But it was trivial at best, and he opened it at once.

The atmosphere was strong, the walk just felt so long
But it was all spot-on for the delicate task at hand.
He found solace in the snow falling from even higher up
As he approached the ledge, then down he fell at once.

-my inspiration here was The Raven.

I just took this from my more popular myspace blog, but whatever.
