That's great that you are taking those kinds of classes because they will certainly help you at MI. Taking a guitar course in jazz is a good idea as well, because it will help you with sight reading, theory, technique and improvisation. Honestly, you really don't have to be amazing at any of those, but developing your skills as much as possible prior to entering the program is a very good idea.

Also, I watched the video of you and your friend jamming and it seems to me that you'll have no problem with the audition.
