So many to list...Mr. Bungle, Carcass, The Great Kat, Beherit, Led Zeppelin, Rage Against The Machine, Black Flag, Oingo Boingo, The Animals, Deicide, JFA, Black Sabbath, early Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Tubes, and many more. It's nearly impossible to list my favorites.

Favorite guitarists :
The Great Kat (the number one BEST guitarist alive), Jimmy Page, Steve Bartek, David Gilmour, Dimebag Darrell, Greg Ginn, Trey Spruance, and probably 500 more that I can't think of right now.

Favorite bassists :
Trevor Dunn, Alex Webster, Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, and Geezer Butler.

Favorite books :
'The Dirt' by Motley Crue. That book is the epitome of rock and roll.

About True_Pentagore

Greetings! My name is Ryk Weston, a music journalist for the past 18 years, I also play guitar for a punk/metal outfit called Rotting Beef Carcasses, but I really don't talk about that too much because it's a joke band and we're nothing special. I spend most of my waking hours writing features and interviewing artists.

Born and raised in Northern California, I have spent my life obsessing over music. Weened on the rock hits played on KMEL, my tastes graduated to extreme metal although I never lost focus on the real essence of music and it's true potential. THis was the main reason I got into music journalism because it just wasn't enough to listen to it. The urge to write about it consumed me and got me to where I am now.

I've run my own music publications including 'The Sermon' (1990-2001), Pentagore Newsletter (1997-2002), as well as pentagore.com for a brief time. Writing stints include Nonco Media, The San Diego Reader, and lastly my writing for Ultimate Guitar. Most of my time is devoted to my webzine on Myspace (www.myspace.com/pentagore) as well as contributing to other smaller webzines as well.
