Coming from a family based in Liverpool, I was brought up with the Beatles who I absolutely love. I could name so many excellent bands, but I'll try to narrow it down a bit - I'm a huge fan of the Chilli Peppers, James Brown, Muse, the Meters, the Skatalites, John Mayer Trio, John Butler Trio....
Favorite guitarists :
I'm also highly influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Antoine Dufour, Andy Mckee and Wes Montgomery. People often tell me I use a lot of techniques of Wes and Hendrix. John Mayer also.
Favorite bassists :
Probably Flea from the Chili Peppers, but I also really like Stu Hamm.
I've been playing guitar for six or seven years now. I started at about ten, then started having lessons at eleven. My first teacher didn't teach me much theory, but taught me to love my guitar and fueled a passion for the instrument. During that time I was quite into rock and metal. However four years later when he left, my new and current teacher got me into styles such as jazz and taught me the importance of theory.
I now consider my main style funk, as I'm in a funk band. But I also play a lot of rock, ska and alternative music.
