Unfortunate deaths on rock and roll 1 (although th

Current mood: contemplative

Over the years Rock & Roll music has had some real legends.  However, many of these great guitarists, singers, drummers, bassists, etc. have met their untimely deaths (many due to drugs).  This is meant to recognize all of the tragic deaths in rock and roll history.  First of all, Jimmi Hendrix was one of the greatest guitarists of all times.  He changed the way we look at the guitar and he gave us some sweet music to serenade our ears.  He had a great gift that was lost that fateful morning when he died.  Next, is Freddy Mercury.  Freddy was the lead singer of the band Queen as we all know and had an angelic voice that could entertain me for hours.  He was one of the greatest front men of all times, and made Queen what they are today, although they are not the same without him.  Unfortunately, he was prematurely taken from us by the AIDS virus.  He will be missed.  Next, is John Lennon.  John Lennon's death has to be one of the biggest tragedies in music history.  He was murdered by a crazed fan outside his New York home in 1981, and music was changed forever.  And the last for now, is Kurt Cobain.  He was a great singer and songwriter for the grunge band Nirvana.  He wrote some great songs and entertained his fans for many a concert.  However, Cobain became very suicidal, and he lost his love of making music.  He was found dead by an electrician with a suicide note and a shotgun.  That's all for tragic deaths in rock and roll history 1.

Rush

Current mood: excited

If I have to post a blog, then it has to be about Rush.  I'm not much of a blogger but here it goes.  Rush is the greatest thing to ever come out of Canada and they're and awesome rock band to boot.  They're the perfect example of a power trio.  Neil Peart has to be the greatest drummer who ever lived, with his 360 degree drum set and the phenomenal show he's able to put on night after night in concert.  Next has to be Geddy Lee, the best bass player in the world and a world-class singer.  Some say his voice is too high, but it makes him unique and it sounds great.  Last but most certainly not least, there's Alex Lifeson who is one of the most underrated guitarists of all times.  Without any member of this amazing band, they would not be the same.  They are about to release their 20th studio album on June 12, and I am psyched.  Clockwork Angels, as it is called has already had 3 singles released that I think are great.  I can't wait to see them in concert this year.  They don't come to Houston until December though, I can't wait.  The point is that Rush is an excellent rock group that everyone should give a try.  I'm hooked for life.
