The Raw Power is a close match to the Eclipse since it has EMG active pickups stock and a slim taper "60s" neck. I have to say that Eclipse II is a better guitar for metal and I like playing it more than the the Les Paul. It is lighter, the neck feels better, and it has a nasty tone. So don't feel cheated by "settling" for the ESP over a Les Paul unless you are looking for a blusier tone. The ESP is a great guitar and plays great once I had it professionally set up. I do prefer the LP for bluesier rock songs but the frets are smaller and feel a little strange to me after playing jumbo frets.
