Yeah yeah, I know I post a lot of these, but it's the only way I don't forget to check out these bands, and the other one is getting too long, so here is one for more bands to check outs. Like a Blaze Above the Ashes is an essential album) -Temnozor' (yeah yeah, I always go on about them... I suppose the easiest way to describe them would be folk/black metal, but they have morphed and intertwined bits and pieces of other styles into their music, even bits of doom metal on one song! so go out and listen for yourselves. Start with Horizons.) -Temnozor' (different band, this one was in Moscow, but became defunct after only one demo, "Sinim". Music in vein of Isengard (Nor) ) -Tumulus (a folk/progressive band that rose from the ashes of Scald) -Comatose Vigil (funeral doom, not mindblowing, but a solid band with enough atmosphere) -Rodovest (a project by Ogneslav, who also participated in Na Rasputje [On the Crossroads]. I think only one album made so far, well written though) -Nav' (side project of guys from Old Wainds, a rawer take on black metal) -Old Wainds (black metal, somewhat in the vein of Destroyer 666 and similar bands) -Na Rasputje (similar to Forest in sound, but perhaps darker... includes one of the most mournful and atmospheric 22 minute black metal songs I"ve heard lol) -Vo Skorbyah (a mixture of folk and death-doom, unsettling and mournful. Great stuff!) -Forest Stream - I suppose if you threw Moonspell, Opeth and Emperor and added a dash of gothic/symphonic element, crushed in some snow and autumn leaves, the resulting mix would be this band. Incredibly atmospheric, and with clever songwriting. -Pagan Reign (a band somewhat similar to Windir, but with a Slavic folk touch) -Blackdeath (not a terribly original band, but fairly decent raw black metal) -Ashen Light (again, not really original or anything, but a fun listen at least) -Liholesie (folk/dark ambient) -Krynitza (folk... didn't make too much of an impression, but I know a lot of people liked it too, so check them out) Loudblast (French) Gwynbleidd Angmar (france) Solstice (U.K) Ghoul (U.S, oakland) Wallachia Voltrum Vektor Mantic Ritual Havok (U.s) Skillet Frost Like Ashes Drottnar Crimson Moonlight Holy Blood Sanctifica Antestor Demonic Resurrection Kryptos Bhoomi IIIrd Sovereign Exhumation Dusk (They're from Pakistan, but our metal scenes are pretty much combined) Acrid Semblance Man Must Die Winter (U.S) Sorrow (U.S) Unburied (Fin) Decomposed (U.K) D.R.I Cryptic Slaughter Vomitor (Aus) L'Acephale Sadist Intent KÖRGULL THE EXTERMINATOR Old (Germany) Faustcoven Puke (Sweden) Abyssic Hate - Suicidal Emotions Altar Of Plagues - White Tomb Be Persecuted - I.I Beatrik - Requiem Of December Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss Farsot - IIII Fen - The Malediction Fields Forgotten Tomb - Negative Megalomania Gris - Il Était une Forêt...
