Should homosexuals be allowed to marry?

YES.

Why? Well, I see no reason why not. I'll give my opinion about some arguments here:

Marriage is a religious union between a man and a woman: There is no one single marriage. Marriages occur in many religions, and if certain religions forbid homosexual marriage, well, that's their problem. However, I see no reason why there cannot be secular arrangements of things like Marriage and weddings.

What next? Incest? Bestiality? Pedophilia?: Well, We have reasons why incest and bestiality are not good. Birth defects can occur from incest. Animals cannot agree to get married. And children have not undergone the cognitive development to think as logically and rationally as adults, and this is why they are often taken advantage of and sexually abused.

What I don't understand is why people have a problem with homosexuals big enough to actually want to illegalize their private life. Homosexuality does not harm people around them. It is between two consenting adults, and honestly, if they want marriage so badly, then just quit being so intolerant.

for me i wouldn't mind as long they don't bother me but anyways
i know how ppl get and like one time in my school there was this day
where some ppl were silent cause they were protesting about the gays and
what not anyways they had to be silent for the whole day
well some teachers didn't liked it so they sent them to ISS (In school suspension)
or they would threaten them by trying to get the students to talk with
there parents i didn't liked that at all but thats how it was
well for me i wouldn't mind for gays, or homosexual or whoever to get married
thats all i can say

i do think they should be allowed to get married, i have a friend whos gay, and he's no different to the rest of us except that he isn't as interested in girls.

^^and quite obviously muel333 is is an ignorant, narrowminded bastard who's probably gay himself and stuck soooooooo far in the closet that he spends all his time with Mr Tomnas in Narnia

Marriage is a human right, not a heterosexual privilege.

To the above: Marriage is not a human right.

To the madcap: I totally agree that gays should be allowed to marry, they are allowed to marry in my country, my mother is gay and is married to a woman, its called a civil partnership here because the religious aspect of it is removed.

I think a large part of the problem people have with gay marriage is that we don't yet fully understand where homosexuality comes from, its cause or what effect it has on societies and species over time. I know this is very educated in comparison to the people with one hand on their crotch and the other up their nose's reasoning but I'm sure if you think it though a little you can see how it might be instinctual normality for people to oppose it, as it may weaken the species.

The way i see it this fear of homosexuality is partially fear of the unknown, and partially a throwback to when there where a lot less people and ever mating couple counted toward the continuance of the species.

I respect the love 2 people share, but i dont totally agree with the things homosexuals do.

On the whole I completely agree with you.
However it isn't the church's problem. If the religion forbids it, then you can't get married. People get married in churches (which are of a certain religion). If the religion forbids it, then its not actually their problem.
It is of the couple who want to marry.
Sorry to be so blunt but thats my opinion on how it works.

But i do agree that gays should be able to marry
