American adventures: Part 1

Current mood: cheerful

I'm going to start a blog. I have a pretty interesting few months coming up, so I'm thinking it might be interesting for people to read! Leave comments and kudos at your own discretion.

I know, technically it isn't summer, but my profile looks bare and lifeless and I can't be arsed to wait til June to start properly.

My mum came out of hospital last Thursday. She was having her tumour removed from her breast/lymph nodes. One of the most surreal experiences of my life was seeing my mum pretty much straight after her Op. She was gaunt, devoid of coherence and, to put it plainly, not my mum.

She came round eventually, but that memory will stick in my mind.

Now she's bloody back home and we're all her servants! We don't mind, of course, it's funny. She had a drain leading into her armpit, where all the toxins etc are being taken out of the body post OP. Standard nickname for her was Pinky and the drain.

My sister got a puppy. Beautiful little urchin. It's like butter wouldn't melt. But she's a mischievous little bastard. Weeing everywhere and biting everything. But as I said, cutest little thing ever.

Anyway, on to the point of this blog. I am spending the whole summer in America. Firstly, working on a summer camp. Then trekking from North to South. Pretty much all my administrative stuff is done now, now just to save money!

Had a fun experience getting my Visa. Went on the tube for the first time and 10 armed guards surrounding a building is an extremely unnerving experience.

Anyway, I will keep people posting of my American adventures, if people are interested.

It's good to hear that your mother's operation went well. I was really young when mine had her operation so I didn't know what was going on.

And I'm not a dog person, but that puppy is ridiculously cute :3

Glad to hear that your mother's operation went well...

What part of the country are you gonna be in?

Mainly east coast. Not 100% sure yet though.
