MIM strats are (usually) some of the best guitars for a balance of comfort, versatility, reliability, and price. The one I have (at the moment) is a well worn '94, and plays nicely. Not as nice as my CIJ Aerodyne, but Japanese is Japanese.

You can play just about anything with a Fat strat...great backup guitar, or guitar for a cover band.
