And i'm really trying to get the demo track completed by this week so i can start auditioning the vocalist and the drummer next week. It'ld be cool to get the band set up and running properly by mid october...

Just done with exams n all so now i can work on my music n stuff. Trying to work up a demo track for this band i wanna set up... Doesn't seem to be that easy! Also starting to take some piano lessons which should be cool...

Try before you buy....
Its doing the job quite well for me... so i really couldn't be asked spending 400 bucks on something that i've already got just for the sake of ethics!!
And i use logic express as my production software (and i bought this one), use reason with it just for a few things like synths through rewire.

I was just messing around with Reason n leaning to use the Subtractor synth in it when i made that.
But yeah, hopefully by the end of this month i plan to have something more there as i plan on finishing off my 1st single for my solo project n setting up the projects myspace n all.

But i'm pretty sure you can find loads of free plug-ins too which are pretty decent. You'ld hafta look around on the internet though!
What i say is it doesn't matter how you get the tone as long as you get the right tone. You don't need a 100w mesa rectifier head with a 12" cabnet when u can get an equally good tone from a bunch of cheap plug-ins!

its always a challenge to find the perfect guitar tone!
Though i'ld say you use the guitar rig as only an amp and use external effects (plug-ins or a pedal) to get a better tone.
Loads of good distortions plug-ins out there. Izotope Trash is a really good distortion plug-in which a lot of producers use, including Trent Reznor. Then there's the Ohmforce's Ohmicide and Predatohm which are again amazing distortion plug-ins. And Ohmforce does some really good delay's and filters too which are really highly acclaimed.
So you could try using them to get your sound...

Lately trying to program some breakbeat drums though which is turning out to be an absolute bitch! Its tougher than i thought it'ld be and i can't make it sound human enough even though i'm using NI's Battery...
So i think there's definitely a lot i need to learn bout breakbeat drum programming!

It's a Vox Valvetronix amp on the mesa boogie rectifier setting. It's miked up with an AKG kick drum mike and a Behringer small diaphragm condenser. No EQ or compression.

That was pretty much what i was trying to achieve!
something dark, heavy and ambient. Those NIN like heavy industrial drums add to it more!

Currently working on the first single for my industrial/experimental project. Hopefully i'll have it done by the end of next month so you can check it out!
