My name is Josh and I'm a guitarist, not a superb one granted but I'm pretty good for a pop-punk/rock guitarist/rhythm guitarist. I have recently discovered the world of lead guitar and I'm trying to add the art of soling to my arsenal of skills... but I'm not quite to the point where I could be considered a lead guitarist. I'm 18 years old, and will be 19 on the 15th of August. I don't have a car, but I'm perfectly willing to help pay for gas, for whoever picks up me and my equipment.
I've mostly listened to metal my entire life, and because of that my playing may possibly be slightly heavier than you're average pop-punk guitarist. I do NOT like death metal or black metal, but I like Melodic Death Metal (read In Flames and some CoB), 70s/80s/90s rock/metal(Def Leppard, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc...) and some metal-core/hard-core type bands. Plus I like pop-punk alot, that Major scale energy is the most awesome thing in the world.
I'm playing an Epiphone G-400 and/or a Vantage 113T(somewhat similiar to a high end strat copy), through a Vox AD50VT(the 2 speaker, 50 watt Valetronix model). I tune to E standard and Dropped D on my Vantage and D standard and Dropped C on my Epiphone. I prefer to play in standard tuning, but I'll play the tuning the song requires. Besides playing rhythm guitar for a pop-metal/pop-punk band I really like Neo-Classical music and its one of my long-long range goals to be able to outplay Malmsteem and Petrucci and all the shredders of that type.
So to recap...I'm a rhythm guitarist looking for a few people to create a pop-punk/metal type band. I'm cool with anything from a 3 piece to a 5 piece, my only problem with a 3 piece is...the bassist may have to sing..because once you've heard me sing you may not want to again. Also...I don't really know any full covers, I never really felt the need to play covers, so if you want to jam, gimme a few song names and I'll try to learn at least one so we have some common ground.
So PM me/message me or send an email to joshua.morine@gmail.com if you want more info or you are interested in jamming.
