Hey guys! Its been absolutely FOREVER since ive blogged on here lol. But thats just due to the fact that I forget things a lot and I get lazy. lol.
But yeah, lots to say.
First of all, my search for a decent guitar and amp have finally come to an end
I had a suggestion thread recently and burnboy85 suggested that I look for a guitar from Rondo Music. So, I went on there and browsed around a little bit, and I found this guitar that looked amazing to me. So, I did some research on it, and I found out that it is an absolutely great deal for the price that is given ($200 US). So, I believe I will be getting this guitar.
As far as the amp situation goes, Ive had my eye on this one for quite a while. I found this one just browsing around. It seems pretty legit to me. Sure, It may not be a Marshall full stack, but it looks like it can surely get the job done. It has two 60-watt speakers in it, so it has decent volume. It has 2 analog modeling channels, a 24-bit effects processor, a tuner, and it just looks really cool to me.
Ok, so, new gear ideas aside, I'd like to talk about some artists that have really been inspiring me lately. See, I listen to just about everything you can think of aside from rap and country. Everything from Techno to Classic Rock to Deathcore to Alternative. You name it, I listen to it. So naturally, the artists that inspire me come from a great range of genres.
Some of the artists that inspire me and why are:
1. Synyster Gates - Avenged Sevenfold
Syn is my top inspiration. He is the one who made me want to start playing guitar in the first place. Back when I first heard Unholy Confessions, I was amazed. So I listened to Second Heartbeat, and my mind was blown. I couldnt believe the solo in that song. Hearing this paved the way for me listening to a lot of similar artists. So, I have Syn to thank for me starting guitar.
2. Paul Gilbert - Racer X/Solo
Ive started listening to Paul more recently. All I can say is that he is simply one of the greatest guitarists I have ever heard. Just listen to Technical Difficulties or Scarified and you'll see what I mean
3. Dimebag Darrell - Pantera/Damageplan
I simply COULD NOT make a list of inspirations without putting Dime on it. He is an amazing guitarist, and he died doing what he loved. I really respect the man, and may he rest in peace.
4. Tom Delonge - Blink 182
Blink 182 got me into punk music. I admire Tom's playing a huge deal. Though some of the songs are very simple, they still have that impact that is left on you for years, and that's gotta be hard to do.
But yeah, I'll stop rambling on now. So yeah, I guess this is the end of this blog lol. I'll try to keep you updated more often from now on.
PS. Big thanks to burnboy85 for suggesting Rondo Music to me!
I just realized what im after. Anything with a Floyd Rose. Yeah, like the Dean from Hell previously mentioned. That thing caught my eye because a) Dimebag is my hero, and b) The tremelo pulls back, which is mega uber. I dont know, i guess im so desperate to get a new guitar and get away from my, pardon my french, SHITTY Epoch les paul ripoff, that I've resorted to rambling on and on about how much I want a new one. All well, I guess every dog has his day, but i've waited too long for this one.
Lately I've learned a lot of songs. I've learned almost all of the songs off of Slipknot's new album All Hope Is Gone (Which kicks ass by the way), I really love playing Psychosocial.
Well, everything has to come to an end sometime, so, yeah.
My guitar is a heaping pile of longhorn dung. The guitar itself is fine but the jack on it is worn out (the cable falls out), and one of the tuners is broken, so, I am looking for a new guitar. I've looked at a hell of a lot of guitars recently, everything from a Schecter Avenger to a Dean from Hell. I've also been looking at some effects lately for unknown reasons. Kinda wanna get one of those Digitech Multi Effect Processors once I get a new Axe. Need a new amp too, mine is a puny little 10 watt practice amp (that came with the guitar, figures...). Basically I think I just need to be reborn in terms of equipment, skills are still okay. Well, I guess I'll just start saving up, kinda want that Dean.....
Lately,I've been trying to nail the solo to Seize the Day by Avenged Sevenfold, but it is pretty fast and I often mess up. All well, the expert in anything was once a beginner .
