Pretty close, it's made entirely of maple like a real rick. The only differences that would affect the tone are the neck is set instead of neck thru which would offer a minimal change to tone at most and the pickups have more to them especially the bridge pickup. It sounds a lot fuller and doesn't rely on having the stereo outputs to get the most from it. I have to say though that the build quality on the pickups looks poor but they haven't failed me yet so I'll reserve judgement on them.
Other than that it's a great bass I'm more than happy with it although I still use my jazz bass as my main because I'm a jazz bass guy and I probably always will be.
