PROGRESS! and my dad got a Gibson

I'm slowly getting the hang of this guitar thing!

I signed up on jamplay.com and i've already learned a bunch off the first few videos. I know it's going to take time but if I had a magic wand I would want to make my self the next great guitar player. I don't have a magic wand so thats not going to be happening any time soon

but like with anything if you take your time and enjoy it, the progress will show for it. I can't play any songs on the guitar yet but thats ok.. i'm learning my chords and notes on the neck. Once I get that down I will move forward. You got to have a foundation first and from i've read and read thats the best foundation to start on. I want to know my notes so I'm not a connect the dots kind of player... not saying thats bad or anything but I believe the more understanding you have the better you will be at what ever it is your trying to do.

My dad and I use to play guitar but hell I was like 6 or 7 years old and I don't remember hardly anything at all. But I believe I've influenced my dad to pick up his guitar again. Well he sold his guitar but this weekend he went out and bought a new one. I was very excited for him to get one but mostly excited in the fact I have someone that can help push me a long and encourage me to keep going. My wife does a wonderful job doing it but with my father getting a guitar its like history all over again if that makes any sense. Here is my fathers gear.

So i'm excited to seem him play again.
