Favorite bands :
Devo, Dire Straits, The Knack, The Cult, The Cure, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Rush, Kraftwerk, Deep Purple, Men at Work, U2, The Police, Nirvana, The Pixies, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Guns n Roses, Sex Pistols, Queen, B52's, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Santana, The Beach Boys, Stray Cats, REM, David Bowie, The Monkees, Pearl Jam, Cheap Trick, Duran Duran... You can all see it's an old timer's list. Except for DEVO, all bands are indexed in a random order. I will be always updating, as I remember more names. :)
Favorite guitarists :
Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, George Benson, B.B. King, Carl Perkins, Mark Knopfler, Andy Summers, The Edge, Brian Setzer, Ritchie Blackmore, David Gilmour, Steve Ray Vaughan, Ed Van Halen, Brian May, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Berton Averre (of The Knack, deserves a place at least for the MY SHARONA solo), Bob Mothersbaugh (of Devo)... Speed is NOT the main requirement for a great guitar player. That's why late Jimi Hendrix is still GREAT and Yngwie Malmsteen is not as great. ;)
Favorite bassists :
Jack Bruce, Bootsy Collins, Sting (why not?), Steve Harris, Les Claypool, Jerry Casale (of Devo)... This one is harder to update. Nobody really likes to play bass, maybe except for my former schoolmate Arthur Maia, acclaimed jazz bass player, who played with nearly everyone, including Carlos Santana. ;)
Favorite books :
Sorry, I'm not a bookworm. : (
Favorite tv :
Fringe, House, The Big Bang Theory, 2 and a 1/2 Men, Outsourced, Chuck, The Middle, Suburgatory, Mike and Molly, V, Nikita, Sh%t My Dad Says.
Favorite movies :
Lots... although I have been out of the movie theaters... Blade Runner, Star Wars, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Heavy Metal The Movie, All from Peter Sellers, most Hitchcock movies... as I remember, I will input more.
If you don't give a damn about me... U R ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!
I'm just an old timer who had guitar equipment of his own for the last time in 1990. I have been real BROKE for half of that 20-year period. I had to sell everything, and I had to work in very bad conditions, like night shifts, low earnings.
The only instrument I bought during the 90's was a MIDI keyboard I sold faster than I bought it. I don't have the knack for keys. I love synth, but I prefer using a guitar to play it.
During the late 90's and early 2000's I only practiced some accoustic guitar home and had some fun in jam sessions and rehearsals with someone else's guitar. From that time I have some good memories, including playing with Marshall amps, and my Yamaha mixer is from the practice studio I helped a friend to install its power grid.
Now I'm trying to come back without any ambition. F**k the people who say I'm too old to play ROCK'N'ROLL. I just wanna do what I like to do with anybody who wants to. I've never been a great player, so I warn the guys before beginning. If they say OK, it's OK for me too.
