Bloodrocuted
This is what I find so hilarious about Dethklok. The creators of Metalocalypse tried to make the most stereotypical death metal band possible, with lyrics that don't say much and are just filled with vulgar stories. I can't really take these kinds of lyrics seriously, but the actual MUSIC is pretty hardcore.
A friend from work a few months back stated that her view on headbanging was that people do it because they think they're being watched and its more an image thing.... Folks, there's no way that people headbang to try to look cool. Have you ever BEEN to a friggin metal concert? There's no one to look at you because EVERYONE is freakin' headbanging. Except for the creepy guys who stand off to the side with their arms crossed over their chest... But I hope they aren't watching me, because I've concluded that those guys at concerts are serial murderers.
For me, it's about an OUTLET! With my bits of writing, I am attempting to get the reader to feel what I am feeling, not just understand it. Similarly, most metal bands want their audience to get pumped and FEEL their music too. I may not always dig the lyrics, but I definately "feel" most heavy music. Most blues too, actually. The headbanging thing... kinda hard not to when you have your head practically exploding from the guitar solo, from the double bass pedal, from the spine compressing bass guitar... I mean the music has so much energy and it transfers to the fans... And it gives me an excuse to just get pissed and shake my head around a lot. Bluuuuuhhhhhhhblublublbulbublublbulb. Bingo.
