guitar pro dictates my band

Current mood: blank

This is basically a question: how should songs be written?
with my band, they're all basically using guitar pro to write songs, finish them, then give them to me to learn. I was wondering, does anyone else do this, and whatever happened to taking a riff to a rehearsal and working it up with a band? Or is just sending finished songs on a computer the way to do it now

year of fender stratocaster?

i was just wondering, how do you tell which year a fender stratocaster was made in, and do you have to look somewhere on the guitar to find out?

easy metallica song??

ok my band are playing a gig in like 6 weeks, and my lead singer/rhythm guitarist and myself are massive metallica fans, and really want to cover a song by them

problem is my rhythm guitarist has only been playing for like a year and rarely practices, and i have a slightly short attention span

so does any1 know of any of metallica's slightly easier songs that would be good to cover?
