Is driving me insane, finished school so I'm free all day and can't play guitar at all from straining my tendons and flaming up my tendonitus again
Teaches me to use shitty gear though I suppose, I got it the first time when I had just started playing and didn't know much about guitars so when I got my cheap ass fender strat standard MIM I didn't relize the truss rod was out of whack and the neck was all bent to shit so I carried on playing on it. This time I was carrying my awful MG from a gig to the bus station and the highly uncomfortable shape and weight of it means that I've set my tendons off again.
I get tendonitis in my left hand due to an old wrist injury from a motorbike stack. Here's how I deal with it.
First, I shortened my strap so my wrist is straighter. No more hanging my guitar down low like Jimmy Page. I had to teach myself to use a lighter grip too.
Secondly - ice. At a gig I take one of those blue freezer blocks with me and give it to the publican to keep in their freezer. I get it back off him during breaks and rest my wrist on it. It helps a lot.
