I'm a lazy bastard, so this is copied straight from my normal blogger site. For reference: Christie= my girlfriend, Neil= her gay ex, and one of our good friends. We live about an hour and a half north of the city, so we don't go that often...

Well I haven't blogged in forever. The summer has been loads of fun, and I only have 8 days left now. Thursday was by far in my top 5 days this summer. I don't know what the other 4 were, but this one is up there with them. Christie, Neil, and I went to the city for the day. For the first time ever, we didn't take the bus and my dad wasn't there, so it was pretty neat. Christie drove us in the Lexusssss. We were rollin' in style. We walked around Broadway and Canal st, and went to H&M and Urban Outfitters and other gay stores like that. Though I'm one to talk, I wore a matching t-shirt, hoodie, sock, and boxers, with a sweatervest to boot. My hair was straight and emo, and I was pretty sexy. The Scholastic store was one helluva trip back to when I was 10, and there was so much cool Harry Potter stuff.

So then we proceeded to the actual planned part of the evening: Suburban Legends at the Knitting Factory! The show was in the basement, which was pretty cool. It was very up close and personal. I guess I'll do my play-by-play of the bands now...
Jet Lag Gemini- These guys were SO good. I didn't know what to expect, and I was blown away. They're like a really good underground version of the All-American Rejects.
Zolof The Rock 'N Roll Destroyer- These guys were loads of fun. Imagine Hellogoodbye with Gwen Stefani singing and playing keyboards. Kinda like that.
Patent Pending- Again with these guys. They were much better than last time, but still sucked. They should not have been third, they should have gone on first. Oh well.
Suburban Legends- Wow. I have NEVER seen them like I saw them that night. They played for over and hour, and it was SO fun. I was dancing all night. Me. Dancing. Yes, I know. It was insane. They played I Just Can't Wait to be King, which was the highlight of the night for me. I love those guys so much.

The show was great, and when we left, it looked like we had just jumped out of a swimming pool we were so sweaty. Back at the car, Neil and I stripped down (oh baby!) and basically acted obnoxious the whole way back to Harriman. Back in the OC we hit up Wendy's for a late night picnic on the grass, and then made out way to Wal*Mart for a potty trip. We met some nice drunk kids who declared us their best friends, no joke. That was a first for Neil, being someone's best friend for more than 5 minutes (ouch. burn. I know.) and we walked around looking at stuff for a while, until we realized it was 2 am and we should probably go home. Great night, most fun I've had in a while.

So now I have 8 days left to see my friends, and I'm probably just going to sit on my ass all day, and think about going to the mall, but I probably won't even do that since it's 5pm and I just ate breakfast. I'm gonna go take a shower or something...
