Yes that's right! I wanna get a (guitar) synth in the near future.
I'm really looking at the Roland GR-20 which has caught my attention for some time now. I was wondering if anyone has another synth that might be better in terms of an investment? Or even perhaps, have a reason to discourage me from a synth, as if to tell me that learning other instruments would be a greater path???
So yeah...tone is one of the most crucual elments of guitar playing of course!
I was just wondering, what are some good EQ settings that work for you guys out there? How do you get it? What do you use?
I have terrible tonework as you could imagine - I use a goddamn stompbox lol. Not to mention how I don't have any decent amps around... I do know that a lot of tone comes from your fingers touching the fretboards but I wonder how you guys get yours besides that.
I like boosting my mids these days and experimenting with everything else. Then again, stomp-boxing isn't helping me...at least not with my DigitechDeath Metal Distortion
For me it's just that knowledge of becoming the best musician that I can...I work every single day and try to get at least an hour in. I don't want to necessarily change the world of guitar or music or what have you, but I do wanna write tunes that appeal to myself (at least) and perhaps to other people as well. Something I seem to have started already! But all gloating aside, I think a lot of what keeps me going is my unconditional support from my family and friends when it comes to my music. Without them I would not be where I am, though I would still be doing it all even though I'm not in a band or gig or anything...
It's kinda difficult what with college, work, and a girlfriend but hey - it's all about balance right!!!
I've been wondering what else out there could keep musicians going...so what keeps you guys going eh???
