Pioneering Renaissance Metal, George Engelbrecht was born in South Africa, 25 October 1985. He currently resides in Vredenburg where most of his time is invested into the development of a Virtuoso Guitarist and he is also the owner of a highly successful Guitar Teaching Business.
George is currently in the process of composing his debut instrumental album which will be recorded in 2013. George is a current student of Master Musician and Teacher, Tom Hess.
George is a member of the Music Careers Mentoring Program, has studied under Master Guitarist, George Bellas and have attended a master classes hosted by Tom Hess and Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire band members). George has also studied Composition under Zack Uidl, Chicago based Musician and has had picking consultations with Rusty Cooley, hailed by many Guitar Magazines as one of the top shredders of all time.
He has also advanced into the final round of a Guitar contest as hosted by the Tom Hess Music Corporation. George has also worked with 7de Laan actress, Corne Crous and has opened for SA Idols finalist, Mr Mark Haze. Recently George was one of few attendees at a 6 day intensive Guitar workshop as overseen by expert Guitarists such as Tom Hess, Mike Walsch and Mike Phillipov.
His musical influences include: Yngwie Malmsteen, George Bellas, Tom Hess, Joe Stump, Jason Becker, Michael Angelo Batio, Rusty Cooley, Antonio Vivaldi, JS Bach, Rob Rock, Manowar, Metallica, Children of Bodom, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, Ed Guy, 3 Inches of Blood, Symphony X and HolyHell.
