Anyhow, this is just a test of sound quality, and it had a cool sound in what I would label as a chorus. Tuning: flat except for the 6th string, which should be tuned down to A#. Then, used my GT-10 to lower the pitch by 4 semitones. So, that puts it at an F if I'm not mistaken.
The chorus actually has a "middle eastern" sound, and by that I mean the feel. Think "Egyptian" from Goldeneye 007. Yeah, I just made that reference.
Just me playing some riffs in my head and then mixing in some warm ups that I do. Pretty much all on the spot and recorded using my 7-string (w00t 7 string legion). { Tags : Thomas, string, seven, legion, chaos, harmony, impromptu, awesome }
A riff compilation that I think has a southern rock feel to it...and then with a ton of metal on it.
*Noted as "HEAVY" because I refer to the tuning it is in as "HEAVY", after a song my band is working on.
Standard flat tuning, then drop the low Eb down to A#.
This is my third attempt at this. I think this is probably the best riff compilation of it that I can do at the moment.
Drop B tuning.

This is pretty much an "alpha" state of a song I'm working on. Did it in one take. A hard rock song with a swing. The breakdown I made a little Pantera-ish. Check it.

How the song would sound if Cthulhu was kicking back one too many brews.
Or just really sucking for the night.
Anyhow, this was mainly for a tone test I was doing with LePou's LE456 ENGL-sim and the X50 free amp sim (based off of a Peavey 6505, and I want to say it was by LePou as well, though I could be very wrong). So, aside from the sloppy playing, the tone's came out nice. { Tags : amplitube, x50, 6505, peavey, ENGL, 456, 645, 654, metal, cthulu, awakening, droppedB, tuning, low, heavy, sludge, doom }
Decided to try a little experiment with some VSTi's. No, not vagoo sexually transmitted infections.
So this is the result. The distortion part is pretty horrendous, but I can't seem to find a good vst for distorted guitars. I just used a "clean steel string" one and threw it into a TSE X50. I'll get around to recording it with real instruments soon, but I'm digging the "symphonic" and clean bits. Even if some of the acoustic instruments sound like Little Mermaid. { Tags : hard, rock, black, hole, dropc, tuning, alter, bridge, heavy, symphony, strings, easy, peaceful, instrumental }
For the most part, the arpeggios are the things that will be in the finished product. Recorded with my GT-10 (custom acoustic preset I made) with my acoustic.

This is something I did on my Schecter Revenger 7. I recorded through my GT-10, and no, I do not have the patch for this anymore.
3:32 - 3:35 has a little higher diddly that was actually by accident, but it sounds so damn good, I need to figure out how to mess up again.
Tuning is AEADGBE. First chords are these, with the second one have a slide up to the 5th fret on the lower strings. (tab V)

This is another song we're working on, in powertab form. Very metal. The moving parts throughout the songs (except after the break for a few measures) are all me...yeah, I'm a rhythm player...it's what I do. { Tags : metal, off, the, zodiac, awesome, alter, bridge, hard, rock }
The intro riff and the "chorus" riff (starts at about :59) are something I came up with and the rest is improv that I did while recording this, as you can tell. I thought it had a very "Mega Man" feel to it. Let me know what you think.
As always, recorded with my GT-10, into Amplitube for a custom patch, and this one used a Framus impulse.
This is the guitar version, instead of the PowerTab version. I did my guitar part, and the metronome and Reaper kept messing up. So I will go off time a few times. Also, although it's written in 4/4, the triplets throughout the song say otherwise.
Sort of inspired by the game. Basically, just a "bad-ass" feel for fight music.
Yes, I'm aware the bends sound like a metal elephant sort of.
Done in one take, more of an improv than anything.
Drop Db, Amplitube Metal + IR's
Calling this "epic" not because I think it is cool (although I do think it is), but because it is going to be a really long track with lots of movements...like an epic poem.

A part of an instrumental record that I want to make. Or at least a collection of long songs. { Tags : walking, the, road, clean, effects, thomas, guitar }
The closing track to my possible solo release. It started as pure improv, then made it's way into a multi-movement song. A bit inspired by "Blackbird" by Alter Bridge. Much heavier form.
So this is an intro and chorus idea fleshed out to be a whole song. Subject to change. I recorded with my 6505+ plugged into a Hot Plate, line-out to my interface. I'm really enjoying the tone. { Tags : hard, rock, falling, star, guitar, drop, flat }
So I tried recording drums and it was a disaster. I had both sticks break on me and my technology didn't want to cooperate. So there will be parts where I completely cut out. That's me hearing nothing in my headphones. There was no click and I'm not a drummer by trade, so there will be mistakes. It also didn't mix well. Let me know what you think about it, other than these things
Just a song I wrote after throwing a lot of drum loops together. It's a song designed to get people pumped up for that wall before they move on to the next step. I'm still working on getting the mix, so forgive the "loudness". { Tags : hard, rock, adrenaline, one, more, round, pump, zero, down, and, out }
The opening riff was something I wrote while looking at the night sky in a rural area. Space is an amazing place. The rest of the song was actually an improv jam that I had with a friend on drums. Hopefully this will get recorded as a full song. { Tags : fall, from, high, hard, rock, metal, space, dreams, falling, six, string, peavey, alter, bridge }
A song from my band's soon-to-be-written second CD. It's a song I came up with right after I wrote "Unknown to You", on our first CD. In the final version, I hope the harmony guitar at the end of the verse is replaced by a violin or a string group sound.
Recorded with Reaper, Revalver MkIII, TSE X50 (6505+ VST amp), LePou LeCab2, and a ton of impulses. Effect and clean sounds through Amplitube 3.
Imaginative title, I know. This was originally going to be a part of an "epic" song, in the original sense of the word: a grand piece with multiple parts, all intertwining to form a piece. Unfortunately, I can't add too much more too this, and the bridge riff I wrote works great to build up intensity. This song is pretty much done, I just need to cut out extraneous things and work on arranging. { Tags : fight, until, the, end, breakdown, hard, rock, metal, alter, bridge, breaking, benjamin, power, intense, powerful, drop, flat }
F#EADGBE on my 7-string. An improv guitar track and drum track. It definitely isn't clean, but it had some great moments and ideas to keep. I really dug the intro and the chorus, so I hope you can bang your heads to at least that part. { Tags : heavy, 7string, seven, swing, rough, take, horrible }
A piece in 6/8 that I wrote while on break from work and on my acoustic. Decided to make it a full deal, though I got carried away with the length a bit. One of the longest bits I've done, and in an odd tuning. It's an adjustment of a B modal tuning, I've learned, though I may just change it to B modal. Enjoy.
Apparently my drum set recorded my metronome along with the track. So you get the joy of listening to a metronome, along with the actual demo tracks. It's like getting two songs in one!
A quick improv thing that I'm going to build upon. The main goal of this was to tinker with some drum loops and get some beats. I found the drum loops on an Android app called Drum Loops. Great stuff, though you can't change the tempo or other sometimes crucial bits. But for what I needed, it worked out just fine.
A second version of a song I'm working on, with more completed riffs, ideas for a second rhythm guitar, and a space for a solo bit.
This was also a tone test, as this was made with a drum loop app on the Android marketplace and free VST's. LePou SoloC (soldano), LePou 456 (ENGL), and the TSE X50 (5150/6505) were used (Soldano on left, ENGL on right, X50 in middle).
An "8bit" midi I made of a song I'm working on. I used the "export MIDI" function in TuxGuitar, and then pushed it to a bit of software. This is the result.
A rough (guitar wise) demo I've made. It's one of my first whole songs in a long while, and now that I know how to write drums, will not be the last.
I've used LePou's Soldano and ENGL amp sims, TSE's 808 and 6505 sims, and an impulse of a Diezel cab loaded with v30's (and made with a Soldano power amp). Drums are EZDrummer (DFH expansion) and the bass is actually a virtual instrument bass, courtesy of DSK. { Tags : Free, Amp, Sims, 6505, Soldano, Hard, Rock, Swagger, Swag, Metal, Chug, Beastly, Tone, Fuck, Yeah }
Here's a cover I did. It's a cover of a remix of a pop song. Don't worry, there's a thick guitar layer on there, as well as some tub-thumpin' distorted bass underneath it all. { Tags : lights, hard, rock, heavy, bass, distortion, amplitube, bassnectar, bad, mix }
