Hey, don't know if you remember me or not from the guitar class at DCCC, but just wondering if you are with a band now at all?

Should hang out sometime and share some music when people aren't busy.

Too much, been busy getting ready for classes and such and everyone else has been working. Thursday of last week was the one day everyone was free except you lol. I'm going to see what's up for this weekend.

Okay. Text me though, my birthday is the day before. I might not be up to light and loud noises.

Lol, nice. Once school starts for me I will basically be unavailable all day mon-fri because of school and work. I will be free all day both Saturday and Sunday, though.

What I'm thinking is that if we could get in a three-hour practice and a two-hour writing session in every week, and we could stay focused through them, then we'd pretty much be set.

OH, and if I can get everyone else's stuff so I can throw it into my calendar too. Its nice and colorful.

I'm probably gonna get this next week, unless someone's got a MIDI keyboard lying around.

Hey, any experience with the Zoom Q3HD? I'm thinking about buying one for recording band practice, but $300 is a fair amount to just drop on something that I don't even know works well.

I haven't, but I've taken a look at it. It'd be nice to have for uploading stuff to Youtube, but as far as practice goes, I dunno.

I'd probably wait until we have material to share beforehand, and just use the recorder I've got for now.

Came up with a fairly proggy riff with a simple chord progression.

So I have the solo down for the STP cover song. It's not exactly like the original, but it's pretty close. I made a fair amount of changes, but hopefully you'll like it.

Cool, can't wait to hear it.

Hey, how about a cover of Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart?

I feel that we should come up with a few cover songs too, to kinda flesh out a setlist and routine that's sizable. I mean, not be like some cover band, but have enough material to gig with as quickly as possible.

I'm sure if we all work on it we can figure something out, but I struggle on transitions a lot. Trying to come up with good breaks from the chorus and verse that flow is tough sometimes. And DAYUM, 12 minutes!?

Yeah, I've been trying to write a few long pieces with movements rather than just chorus/verse, there's just something rewarding about sitting down for one. I started listening to DT and picked up my progressive vein again, and its something I've always wanted to do.
