Anything by Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clarke, Robert A. Heinlein, J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Aldous Huxley, Douglas Adams, and I'm sure I'm missing more than a few. I highly recommend Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh, Watership Down by Richard Adams, and the philosophy of Nietzsche. Carl Jung isn't what would normally be considered leisure reading but his writing is of high educational value.
