First Blog-worthy event EVER!

Ok, it's finally happened, a reason that i can write a blog other than shear boredom. So I was working on a mid 1980's guitar that belongs to my girlfriend's brother that had been abused for the better part of a decade (left in a garage for years ect.). For those who didn’t know that I do Tech/modification/restoration you do now, although the fact that I have a 1950’s-esque jag. Bass should have given that away (found in a dumpster by a friend in two pieces, but different story entirely). Any who, the electronics were of course fried, frozen, dirty, and snake infested (ok, maybe not snake infested, but it would not have surprised me) so I had to replace them. Enter Guitar-fetish.com, and their awesome selection of parts. I ordered a LP upgrade kit which had 4 pots, a nice toggle switch (the old style that is just awesome), and new caps. I got a great deal, but that’s neither here nor there. So, because I’m doing this job as a wedding present, it’s free. I decided that I’m going to put the nice switch in my Virgo, and give him the BC Rich toggle, which is 100 times better than the one in his guitar anyway. So I replace the volume pot, and the switch, and the cap in my BC Rich, the last of the stock electronic parts in the guitar. I plug it in and WOW! I would have never believed that a switch and a cap would do that much. The difference was simply astonishing.

And about the old guitar, sounds great! For 30 years old, it plays like a new one. I guess the point of this is Guitar Fetish is awesome, and amazing and I have now officially left the school of thought that believed a switch would not change your tone.
