I consider myself to be a Jack-of-all-trades guitarist with a background in classical and jazz guitar as well as a fluency in more contemporary styles like metal and fusion. I employ legato techniques like sweeping and tapping for most of my lead work, and my note selection is informed by an admittedly limited knowledge of jazz harmony and classical theory. Though I see myself more a guitar player than instructor, I believe that my completely self-taught experience as a musician can provide a unique perspective to other developing guitarists. I write lessons for UG based on a technical approach I have cultivated over several years of playing in hopes that other guitarists are able to apply and expand upon those concepts.
