The key to speed

Hi everyguitarist out there. first of all, im not going to show you the same boring exercises you already know. IŽll give you tips of( you know)... SPEED!!!!!!!!

Well, im playing guitar about an year now,and i never knew i was going to be so obsessed with speed. But remember, speed isnt everthing, even if you play fast you must have the feeling,

ok, lets start.

the key to speed is:

-be relaxed at all time, youll play extremely well if you are and youll avoid a lot of mistakes.

-if you want to play some phrase fast , you have to start slowly( for example im playing a Rata Blanca solo from "el guardian de la luz" (an argentinian band) and i start at 80 bpm). I know that youre exited to play fast but the effort will be pay by a clean, nice sound. Trust.

- Talking about synchronization, you have to do very small pick movement. its important that you keep the pick as close as the strings as possible, And obviously You have to start to play chromatics( at a slow tempo)

-This is important and thanks to this I started to play very well About... a week ago xD(when i started studyng guitar)
The movement of the pick is not simply up and down, you also have to do a circular movement.
This movement makes you keep the pick as close as the string. Practise it first to be comfortable and then icrease the speed.

-DONT TRY TO PLAY SOMETHING FAST AT THE BEGINNING or you will play awfully dirty. Because if you do it fast( even if it seems like youre doing well) the small mistakes will increase when you play it faster and faster. ANd the Brain, instead of learnig to play it well, it learn it bad.

Practise with metronome to view your progress.

I recommend: speed mechanics for lead guitar( Troy Stetina)
