Well, I'm just a guy in his early 20's spends most of his time working or being lazy. Along with the lazy part, I play video games, watch movies and TV, dive into the internet for hours on end, and chat with people. But on some occasions when I'm feeling inspired or artsy, I then either pick up a pencil and draw or pick up a guitar and jam. I play both guitar and bass, the bass being my weapon of choice really. I've been playing guitar for about 7 years and bass for about 4 years now. I never really had any lessons and am mostly self-taught with tablature online, along with general messing around with the instruments. I'm horrible with chords, but learning them gradually.
My style on guitar is usually that of a rhythm guitarist, with a progressive, interesting approach. I prefer not to do shredding or anything super fast for 2 reasons: 1) I'm not that talented and 2) Everybody else in highschool focused on being like Dragonforce. I hated that. My inspirations with guitar come from bands like Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, Porcupine Tree, and Rage Against the Machine.
As for bass, I vary a little more. I'm not a fan of simply just plucking the root notes, I find that boring and dull. I dabble a bit in styles of pop n' slap, speedy punk basslines, and some technical stuff as well. Basically, I like to have a lot of fun with the bass and experiment. I mainly have played 4 strings, but I'm curious to experiment on 6. My bass inspirations come from bands like Primus, RHCP, Rancid, Incubus, Tool, At The Drive-In and RATM.
