First gig (epic failure)

Current mood: pissed off

So my band just played its first gig...
And I am now massively annoyed, because the assholes running it did everything they could to make it tough for us. It was open to students from only two schools, and we were the only ones representing our school, and it was hosted by the other town. There is a long standing rivalry. So first thing they do is make us play play first, at 6:25 when no one was there.
They knew this was our first gig, but we didnt get a sound check, but every other band did.
Then, they wouldnt let us use our 10 piece drum set, so we had to use a set with only one mounted tom and one floor tom, and their floortom was about an inch bigger than our mounted tom.
Their monitors were garbage, and we could only ever hear ourselves.
I was the only singer on key too, even if they couldn't hear me half the time because I had no idea how sensitive the mic was. My voice was shot from 4 days of straight practice and screaming, which they knew because we only joined 4 days before the gig BUT WE SAVED THE GIG. They could at least show some gratitude.
The bands that got first and second place were massively rigged against us. The band that got first got two sound checks (despite the fact they had played there before), and we had to use all of their amps and drums. When the band that got second came onstage, the announcer spent about 5 minutes riling up the crowd and talking to them while they set up (they got a 5 out of 5 for stage presence thnks to this).
We got 1 out of 5 for stage presence because we (unlike everyone else) played for 18 minutes out of our 20 minute time slot instead of talking to the crowd.
AND: we were the only band with any testicles there. One of the comments on the judgement pages was: lead singer (me) needs to get a haircut or a hair tie...
we got 6th place out of 6.
I bitched. Cool.

assholes. Our first show was horrible too. Only had a week to practice so we played the easiest song we knew, Polly by Nirvana. Oh god...
