Hi, my name is Paddy. I'm a trainee biomedical scientist.
I've been playing guitar since the age of 8 years old when my mum and dad brought me a nylon string cheap acoustic guitar from a shop called Buttons. I was then taken to guitar lessons at a local church where they taught me god bothering songs. I wasn't brought up religious so these songs never interested me, but I was a fast learner and know as best in the class.
I then moved to learning at my school, but my teacher wasn't much of a guitarist and due to the other students slow progress, I soon grew bored.
At the age of 14 I got my first electric guitar and amp combo, and my love was reborn. I then got taught by a local guitarist and after 2 years I had caught up with him so he started teaching me piano.
I only play at home as stage performances stress me a bit. I enjoy playing songs at home for friends when relaxing as I don't think my singing voice is anything special and its more relaxed. There's no pressure and friends and family seem to enjoy my renditions. I enjoy playing metal songs acoustical and acoustic songs with a more rock feel (ex: Dolly Parton: Nine to five - great fun with heavy distortion)
I now have a marshal amp and a Vintage les paul (not gibson yet, my wage isn't very good). I also have a cheap electo acoustic and a cheapy 12 string.
